Use Common Sense When You Compare Quality & Price

  • Consider the strength of the tube steel in the frame. Fence rail is not recommended for batting cage frames because of it's strength. A normal person can bend a length of 1-3/8" fence over his knee.

  • 1-5/8" fence rail comes in 21' lengths. When cutting 21' lengths to 12', 14', & 18' lengths, think of the scrap you will have and the extra costs you will have to pay. Then ask yourself, if I do get it cut into 12', 14' and 18' lengths, how am I going to get the long lengths home? If you have to cut the fence rail into shorter lengths, how are you going to splice it together?

  • Skillbuilder frames have been thought out and the scrap is minimal. Skillbuilder uses 10' lengths of EMT (electrical mechanical tubing) because you can handle 10' lengths and .065 EMT is stronger. Our complete frames come with everything you need to set up the frame and kits come with everything excluding the 10' lengths of tubing.

  • Skillbuilder's 1-1/2" cable frames and 1-1/2" stand-alone frames can withstand winds up to 70mph. The Skilbuilder's 1-1/2" frames are excellent, while the 1-5/8" frames are better, and the 2-1/4" frames are the most durable.

  • Batting cage frames are constructed with the legs vertical to the ground or with the legs on an angle to the ground, giving it a wider stance. Experience has shown that frames with its legs on a wider stance are much more stable. Many of the stand-alone batting cage frames require accessories to make them stable. Skillbuilder batting cage frames come inclusive with all the necessary parts to make the batting cage frame stable.

  • Experience has also shown that when the ground stakes that we provide are attached to the legs, the frame is much more stable than using diagonal braces.
